But I expect publishers to have people in quality control, or some such. When we first meet our hero, Tavi, he lives on a furh in the outer reaches of Alera with his uncle Bernard and his aunt Isana brother and sister, not a married couple.
Of course it wouldn’t have been quite as enjoyable had the previous installments not been so well developed, interesting, and engaging.

Starting with the second book, the scope of story broadens dramatically, with a wider range of characters getting in-depth treatment. All that we are, all that we have wrought, is but a shadow, no matter how durable it may seem.
It made me look at the character differently, at any rate. The next was a no doubt about it and every book got better till 5. For a thousand years, Alera and her furies have withstood every enemy, and survived every foe.
However, with the Realm of Alera coming for the first time after a thousand years against its greatest threat, when the Vord queen sends its forces against the defending Legions of the Capital, and far away in the Canim homeland the uncontrollable chitinous monsters surge toward the last standing survivors, Tavi and his comrades, Amara and Bernard, Isana and Aria, and Ehren and the First Lord, will have to leave their differences aside and fight this new threat before all is lost, because if they fail to overcome these difficulties, their very survival will hang in the balance.
This book is divided among up to 4 view points. I’m picky I know!
Don’t get me wrong, Codex Alera is a great read. The Alera books are about political scheming, lost heirs, and deadly enemies. Nov 25, Pages Buy. Princeps’ Fury was an improvement on the last installment for me in a lot of ways, but there was still a bit too much wah, wah, wah boring shit about battle strategy and other descriptive questing nonsense.
Unable to furycraft, he still won the respect and alliance of the Fkry leaders, and with it, knowledge of princpes darker threat, just in time.
