Volume 2 expands and develops on the techniques established in volume 1 and so, in answer to your question, you will masterclas find it less groundbreaking that the first book. If you are interested in any fofgeworld the specific models painted or the techniques used then you will find this a very useful purchase. It is a large hardback with thick glossy pages and is a thing of beauty in itself.

One interesting thing about the Eldar guides is the way in which the models are airbrushed using light greys and flesh colours in the case of Saim Hann or using black and white Mymeara in order to establish the basic patterns and highlights. So back when this book first came up for pre-order I jumped and grabbed a copy missed out getting a signed copies though, damn it! It’s not like it goes over something real quick. That’s true, once you get your skills where you’re comfortable, it can be tough to get over that and try something new sometimes. I loved the first book, it was what i was looking for, a book about tackling advanced techniques so you can see how some of these skills are used. I enjoy these books because they get into the process a bit more than I do on the blog here most of the time.

I know some people, especially experienced painters are leary of ordering books on modeling and painting from Games Workshop.
